What types of assessments do you provide?

Capacity planning and performance assessments of the WebSphere environment are the most common. In addition, we do more detailed analyses of administrative processes related to automated startup and shutdown and the promotion of code into production.

A WebSphere Application Server assessment is often a mission-critical platform for both in-house developed and packaged solutions. If necessary, platform stability issues need to be addressed immediately. A long-term view is also needed to address ownership, administrator training and basic systems management processes.

After the assessment, you will be provided with a recommended approach to fail-over and administrator efficiency, recommendations for WebSphere Application Server set up and scripts, a standards document and an analysis of development techniques.

Working directly with application development groups and System Administrators we focus on the following areas:

Review of the current application server environment
Recommended application server topology
Recommended WebSphere Application Server setup on OS of choice
Use of standards
Applications techniques (Java)

One of the first tasks is to obtain relevant data to facilitate the assessment of the environment. The majority of the data to be analyzed will be sourced from the following:

System administrators
Examination of the WebSphere logs as well as application logs (if applicable)
Documented or known issues from IBM
Examination of the applications
Current and future requirements and expected volumes
